One of the great parts about Sugar N’ Spice’s history is the people. For many people, Sugar N’ Spice is a family tradition, passed down through generations. The little unassuming (pink) building reminds people of coming to Sugar N’ Spice with their grandparents as children for their first Wispy Thin Pancakes. The goal of the Tell us Your Story Campaign is to capture that. “We want to give people the opportunity to tell us what makes Sugar N’ Spice special to them,” says owner Steven Frankel, “Hopefully we get some interesting and funny stories along the way.” The restaurant, along with its great food, is built upon the generations of people that continue to come in and bring their families.
New customers are quickly attracted to the homey feel of Sugar N’ Spice. Nearby, Xavier University students come to devour the Wispy Thin Pancakes after long nights. Every year a new group of freshman is introduced to Sugar N’ Spice and they too eventually become regulars.
There is something about the food, people, and atmosphere of Sugar N’ Spice that people seem to love. “Anytime I turn around, somebody’s got a great story. It doesn’t really seem to matter who you are or what you do,” Frankel says. “Everybody always seems to come back to Sugar n’ Spice, to a nice home-cooked meal.”
Please tell us your story! Every story helps to build the history of Sugar N’ Spice. Whether you have been a customer for a week or for three generations, we want to here from you!
